What do our customers need ?

Nowadays, more and more electronic devices are entering our lives. The designs and applications vary, but they all require a secure enclosure with cable entries and the ability to install various control elements.

It is too expensive to produce a specific plastic housing for each application, as each option would require a separate molding form, the price of which is measured in thousands.

Recognizing this problem, we developed the PS-014 series, which allows you to customize a universal enclosure for every application at a low cost.

 

 

How big should this enclosure be ?

First we choose the optimal dimensions. They had to be not too big, but such that there was enough space for some cable entries and several control elements. We had to take into account that many automation elements today are made to be mounted on a DIN rail.

Taking all this into account, we concluded that the dimensions of the base part should be approximately 100*185 mm.

But regarding the height of the box, we conclude that at least two options are needed.

How did we achieve this ?

We sought to develop a universal, adaptable production equipment that would allow for a variety of options while maintaining uniform dimensions and conditions. 

As a result, we can currently produce one dimension base part and two different sizes of lids. All parts has a lot of additional options, described below. Many accessories can be ordered or designed specially for You to meet Your requirments.

But we won’t stop here and plan to expand our offering in the future.

Five base part options with different fixings

Customizable base part

We currently offer five mounting options for the base part.

These options allow you to place and secure various equipment on the base part. Devices can be installed on metal base plates, mid level plates or fixed directly to corresponding fixings. If necessary, it is possible to create other fastenings, depending on technical capabilities. All base parts contains four places provided for PG9 cable inlets, that allows enter up to four 5 – 6.5 mm cables supporting IP67 protection class. All base parts has an option to install rubber o-ring.

Base part privided for fiber optic cassettes FOS-41NG. Additional cable fixings. Four cable clamps and screws included

Used in : Outdoor fiber optic enclosures FOS- 43  and FOS-44

Base part with supports for DIN rail. DIN rail oriented longitudinally. Intended for cable terminals

Used in : PS-14H17 , PS-14H18 , PS-14L11

Two lid options with different height

If you need to place a PCB in the enclosure or make some connections and install small control elements, the low profile will be sufficient for You. As example, low-profile enclosures can accommodate fiber optic cable joining or the installation of one or two power sockets. It is also possible to conceal a proximity sensor or a small LCD display inside. The internal height of low-profile enclosures is 44 mm.

 

If you need to install automation devices that require mounting on a DIN rail or power supply, a low profile enclosure will not suffice. For these applications, we offer high profile enclosuresWith an increased cover height, the internal height reaches 89 millimeters, allowing for the secure installation of various DIN-mountable components, surge protectors, measuring instruments, electric meters, relays, and other electrical equipment.

 

 

What options can be incorporated in to the cap ?

As previously stated, two styles are available: low profile caps and high profile caps. Our production equipment allows us to create two apertures on each lid, as demonstrated in the accompanying drawing. Within zones A and B, openings of varying sizes can be manufactured to accommodate control or indication components. Additionally, a transparent window may be installed in zone A.

 

Hermetic windows for equipment monitoring

Transparent or red-tinted window options

A transparent or red-tinted polycarbonate window can be installed in zone A on
both
 low-profile and high-profile caps. This feature enables effective observation of counters or measuring devices inside enclosures, including those mounted on DIN rails.

An additional rubber O-ring beneath the window ensures IP68 protection
class is achieved.  For further details, please refer to our high-profile enclosure models PS-14H13 , PS-14H14 as well as low-profile designs PS-14L6 and PS-14L7

What can be installed ?

Base plates

Base plates are available in either stainless steel or zinc-plated metal and are secured to the base part using screws. They require the use of base part PS-014A1. The base plate PS14-BP2 includes a DIN rail, while the base plate PS14-BP1 does not feature a DIN rail but can be factory-prepared to accommodate various electronic equipment.

 

Mid-level plates

The mid-level plate in conjunction with the high profile cap, enables the installation of DIN-rail mountable components that are accessible externally, such as circuit breakers. This plate is compatible with all base parts for mounting.

DIN-rail, mounted on high-profile cap

A DIN rail can be securely fastened directly to a high-profile cap, enabling the installation of up to three circuit breakers, or one 3-phase circuit breaker, on the cap. With this configuration, the upper section of the circuit breakers extends through the lid, providing external access. This installation method is also suitable for other DIN-rail devices that require accessibility from outside the enclosure.

DIN rail on base part

This solution is designed for mounting terminal blocks. The DIN rail has a length of 114 mm and can be attached to base part PS-014A4. It is compatible with various low-profile and high-profile lids.

Sockets for internal power supply

There are situations that require a dedicated enclosure for power supplies in both indoor and outdoor settings. With the addition of a high profile lid, this can be achieved. One SCHUKO socket may be installed inside to accommodate a compact power supply unit.

Fiber optic splicing cassette

The FOS-41NG fiber optic splicing cassette fits the PS-014A3 base and is suitable for indoor or outdoor cable splicing.

Special mid-level plates for fiber optic

When the splicing cassette  FOS-41NG  is installed on the base part, special adapter plates can be positioned above it at the mid-level. These plates can be custom-manufactured according to your provided specifications or sketches.
